The special high altitude rescue group (GERA) has rescued a 58-year-old hiker who had suffered a heart attack in the Siete Picos area in the heart of Madrid’s Guadarrama mountain range. Equipped with the SCHILLER emergency monitor/defibrillator DEFIGARD Touch 7, a stretcher and ropes they undertook this rescue and the woman was transported to the hospital.
In coordination with Summa 112, the Red Cross, the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group, the Civil Guard and Madrid Rescue Services, they managed to coordinate a very complicated rescue in extreme snowy conditions.
